Polyolefin material is usually used as sheath and insulation of cables and optical cables. The thermal oxidation stability of polyolefin material sheath and insulation can be used to judge the service life of cables and optical cables. The oxidative induction time (OIT) is a relative measure of the oxidative decomposition resistance of stabilized materials and an evaluation of the stabilization level of materials. The time interval between oxygen passing and oxidation reaction is measured by placing the sample with anti-oxidation stabilizer under the oxygen flow at a specific temperature to determine the material. In general, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) can be used for simple and rapid measurement.File download
